Pooja was born in one of the poorest communities in the world and within days was abandoned in a nearby trash heap.

Found by a local Christian widow, Pooja was

rescued from the rubbish to be cherished as a beloved child.

Today at 3 years old, Pooja is the newest student in the pre-nursery class at Chandigarh Baptist School.

The private Christian school was established for the very purpose of serving the uttermost members of society, including Pooja and 1,200 of her neighbors.

With a motto to walk as children of light,

Chandigarh Baptist School offers their students an opportunity to thrive in life through academic knowledge and a Biblical foundation of spiritual truths.

Pooja may never know her earthly father, but at school she will learn about a Father in heaven who loves her and will never abandon her.

She was created with a purpose. She was created to worship.
